Celebrating 50 in Style: Steve’s Birthday Bash at Studio B and Play!
Milestone birthdays are always special, but Steve’s 50th birthday party at Studio B and PLAY was truly one to remember. As a Boston event photographer, I’m lucky enough to document incredible parties across the city, but the energy in the room for this one made it an absolute highlight.The night started with a cocktail reception where friends and family gathered to toast the guest of honor. The space looked incredible—the rich burgundy accents mixed with Carolina blue brought a fresh, polished feel to the venue. Guests mingled with drinks in hand, including the night’s signature drink, The All-Star Old Fashioned on the rocks.mAfter cocktails, everyone sat down for dinner before things turned up a notch. Mentalist David Gerard took the stage right after, leaving the entire room completely blown away. From there, it was straight into dessert, drinks, and a full-out dance party that kept the floor packed all night. Events like this come together seamlessly when you have a brilliant team behind them. Working with Emily from EFK Event Strategies is always such a joy. Her eye for design and calm, organized approach make every event run effortlessly, which lets me focus entirely on catching all those candid moments, spontaneous laughs, and high-energy party shots. Photographing events in Boston is all about capturing the genuine feel of the night—from the fine details and custom touches to the moments on the dance floor you want to hold onto forever. Steve’s 50th was a perfect example of how a great venue, amazing planning, and wonderful guests come together to create an unforgettable night.
